Net Zero Needs Nuclear at COP26
Main Article Content
Abstract
The United Nations Conference of Parties (COP) brings together over 30,000 delegates including heads of state, climate experts, and campaigners to agree on coordinated actions to tackle climate change. This is where the Kyoto Protocol and Paris Agreement were agreed upon and where the major influencers in climate change meet. Nuclear has historically had a minimal presence at this event but for COP-26 (November 2021) an international nuclear delivery team of volunteers has been assembled to ensure this year is different. This paper will outline the approach taken by the team to change the public perception of nuclear along with the plans in place for COP-26 and how others can get involved to amplify the impact.
