A Universally Applicable Approach for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) Site Selection
Main Article Content
Abstract
Fossil-fuel power plantsare currently facing stricter greenhouse gas (GHG) emission targets. As an emerging technology, small modular reactors (SMRs) can provide a clean pathway to relieve environmental pressure caused by increasing fossil fuel consumptions. The site evaluation and selection of SMR installation are crucial stepsfor SMR development. The objective of this study is to propose a universally applicable approach for SMR site selection. A case study for Saskatchewan is presented to prove the applicability of this proposed approach.
