Preliminary Trace Thermal-hydraulics Results for the IAEA ICSP on Numerical Benchmarks for Multiphsyics Simulation of PHWR Transients
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper provides a comparison of preliminary steady state thermal-hydraulics results generated by TRACE and those provided by the benchmark team using ARIANT, for the International Atomic Energy Agencies International Collaborative Standard Problem on Numerical Benchmarks for Multiphysics Simulations of Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor Transients. An overview of the thermal-hydraulics system model is provided, and modelling challenges are briefly reviewed. Results compared include fuel, cladding and coolant temperature, and pressure profiles. Good agreement can be seen between the fuel, cladding and coolant temperatures, and when the TRACE model was tuned, good agreement was also found in the coolant pressure profiles.
