The Second Ionization Constant of Carbonic Acid Under CANDU Reactor Primary Coolant Conditions By Raman Spectroscopy
Main Article Content
Abstract
The second ionization constant of carbonic acid in light and heavy water has been accurately measured up to 325 °C using Raman spectroscopy. Ionization constants in heavy water at temperatures above 100 °C have been measured for very few acids and bases. Together with other results from our laboratory, this work will be used to develop and verify models of the deuterium isotope effect on oxide solubilities in CANDU reactor primary coolant.
