Verification of Optimum Energy Group Structure for the Canadian PT-SCWR with PARCS Diffusion Analysis
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Canadian Pressure Tube Super Critical Water-cooled Reactor is a generation IV advanced nuclear energy system that uses the light water above its thermodynamic critical point as coolant. It is fuelled by a Pu-Th fuel mixture and characterized by a bi-directional coolant flow path through the vertically oriented fuel channel. Previous study has investigated the optimum energy group structure that supposed to be used in the full-core diffusion simulations, however, the model search algorithm introduced was based on lattice cell transport calculations using SCALE code. The aim of this work to verify the outcome of that previous work by assessing the assigned optimum energy group structure through diffusion analysis using PARCS code.
