RPS an Opportunity to Expand Canadian Involvement in Space

Abstract

In addition to the medical isotope shortage the world is facing, there is also a global shortage of ²³⁸Pu. This paper discusses the importance of this isotope for use in radioisotope power systems and the implications this has for space exploration. Canada could gain from pursuing research into how to fill the shortage.
