Abstract

This paper describes a study on the effect of radiation on the corrosion of pure Ni at different temperatures and pH. Corrosion potential measurements and coupon corrosion tests have been performed on Ni samples in deaerated sodium borate solutions at pH 6.0, 8.4 and 10.6. Results show that radiation increases the oxidation rate, in both oxide formation and metal dissolution pathways.
