Abstract

ELORA is a MATLAB-based software tool, developed at McMaster University, used to deploy reactors and satisfy Canada's power requirements. With PWRs and CANDUs in mind, ELORA calculates the levelized cost of electricity and the amount of spent fuel per year for each breed while calculating the separation capacity needed to feed the PWRs. The amount of spent PWR fuel that can be reprocessed into MOX fuel for future PWR cycles is also calculated. ELORA utilizes a graphical user interface that allows changes to the starting conditions of the simulator.
