Abstract

Insights into high temperature corrosion and water chemistry are obtained by Molecular Dynamics simulations and flow reactor studies. Atomic density profiles and diffusion coefficients for aqueous species confined in Fe(OH)2 nano-cracks are presented. Rate constants for the oxidation of hydrogen gas in supercritical water are given. The results are relevant to the chemistry control strategy and materials engineering of the SCWR.
