Sagging Model of Calandria Tubes in Severe Accidents for the Caiser Code
Main Article Content
Abstract
CAISER (Candu Advanced Integrated SEveRe accident code) is on development to analyze severe accident progression on the typical CANDU reactors. In the present study, we modeled the sagging of calandria tubes in the CANDU reactor during the severe accident for the CAISER. We use elastic-plastic beam theory for the clamped-clamped beam to evaluate deformation of the calandria tube. Yield stress of the material as an input for the analysis shows dominant influence to the sagging progression during the severe accident. Comparison between previous studies was performed to verify present modeling. Results shows that present analysis has reasonable acceptance to the sagging of calandria tubes.
