REGDOC-2.4.1 Compliant Small Loss of Coolant Trip Coverage Analysis
Main Article Content
Abstract
As part of New Brunswick Power's REGDOC-2.4.1 implementation plan, small loss of coolant trip coverage analysis was performed. During the event identification and classification review, most scenarios were identified as design basis accident (DBA). This paper presents the small loss of coolant trip coverage analysis encompassing anticipated operational occurrence (AOO) and DBA for Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station based on regulatory requirements for safety analysis and industry guidance for limit of the operating envelope and realistic operating envelope analysis approach. The analysis covered a wide range of small breaks and operating states in support of Point Lepreau high power operation to end of life. The DBA analysis applied the limit of the operating envelope methodology in conjunction with the current derived acceptance criteria for fuel and fuel channel integrity. Limit of the modelling envelope analysis was also performed to show that the limit of the operating envelope analysis has enough conservatism built-in to cover modelling parameter uncertainties.
