Development of a Physics Specification for the IAEA Numerical Benchmarks for Multiphysics Simulation of Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor Transients: Adjuster Withdrawal Problem
Main Article Content
Abstract
The IAEA International Collaborative Standard Problem (ICSP) Numerical Benchmarks for Multiphysics Simulation of Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors, is currently in progress. The ICSP test problems include the steady-state and three transients. The problems are designed to test coupled reactor physics and thermalhydraulics codes. The first transient case is based on a postulated inadvertent withdrawal of adjuster rods. In order to support the development of a detailed specification for this test problem, a series of reactor physics simulations were performed using NESTLE-C and RFSP. This paper presents a summary of the ICSP and discusses the development approach for the physics specification.
