Abstract

At the current time in Canada, no human health-based generic (national) soil quality guidelines (SQGHH) exist for uranium. This paper explores some of the various methods that could be used to develop human health soil guideline values for this element. To determine possible values that may be appropriate for use in Canada, the authors have applied both the existing CCME approach (1996) and the draft revised CCME approach (2005) to estimate possible SQGHH for uranium for various land uses.
